The Midland Park Memorial Library provides the following services: Bergen County online public-access
catalogues, Inter-library loans, multi-media personal computers, story hours, book clubs, displays and
special programs. The Midland Park Memorial Library is a member of the Bergen County Cooperative
Library System (BCCLS).
The mission of the Midland Park Memorial Library is to provide library resources and services to meet the
education, informational, cultural, and recreational needs of the community. We endeavor to proactively
query, anticipate and meet the constantly evolving needs of the community. The library provides free,
open, and equal access to ideas and information to all members of the community.
We must continuously strive to maximize offerings delivered in diversified forms of media.
We will offer courteous and friendly service, which encourages participation and facilitates a collaborative
relationship with the Borough and surrounding communities we serve.
We will continue to be fiscally responsible and responsive with the funds and resources we are entrusted
with from public tax dollars and private donations alike.
GIFTS AND DONATIONS
Gifts and Donations The Midland Park Memorial Library gratefully accepts donations of gently used
materials. The library does not accept damaged materials, abridged books, Reader’s Digest, textbooks,
magazines or anything older than five years. The Director allows Library staff to select materials for the
Library's collection according to the Library's selection guidelines. Items that are not added to the
collection are put up for sale or disposed of and are not returned to the donor.
Donation of monetary gifts, memorials, and commemorations to the Library are a thoughtful way to
remember a special person or occasion and to help build the Library's collection. Donors may suggest
subjects or titles to be acquired with their donation, but the Library reserves the right to make the final
decision. Upon request a special gift plate identifying the donor and/or the person being memorialized
and/or honored is placed in the material purchased. The individual is notified by the library.
