A Message From the Midland Park Police Department

Midland Park Police Department is asking you to please follow these precautions during the COVID-19 outbreak:

Avoid coming to Police Headquarters unless you absolutely have to. You should call first and be screened by a county dispatcher. Most reports can be handled over the phone and faxed or emailed to you. Bergen County Communications handle all 9-1-1 Police, Fire, and EMS calls that come in, additionally they screen regular and administrative calls. We must enact measures to protect our personnel during this Pandemic.

If you are quarantined (mandatory or self-imposed) in your home due to possible or confirmed
COVID-19 exposure, PLEASE notify dispatch at 201-444-2300 when you call. We also ask that you place a sign/note on your front door to alert our personnel to take infection-prevention precautions before entering your home or business. Officers will be asking questions before they enter your home. Please respect this procedure and recognize that it also protects you and your family. Please keep Social Distance from our officers when you interact with them.

It is imperative that you only contact the police department for assistance if there is an actual emergency. If you are feeling ill (i.e. fever, chills, flu like symptoms), contact your doctor and/or hospital and if advised to do so, self-transport to the hospital or medical facility. You can also contact medical professionals for advice at the following numbers:

NJ Poison Information and Education System (800)222-1222
New Bridge Medical Center (201)204-0712
Valley Hospital Corona Virus Screening Service 1-800-VALLEY 1
Hackensack University Hospital Online contact at ConvenientCareNow.com

We need to protect our personnel so that they will be able to continue to meet the emergency needs of the community. Elsewhere, there have been police departments and/or fire departments quarantined after they have responded to quarantined homes and were not alerted before entering. Those first responders are now unavailable to help anyone for at least 14 days.

In our department, we cannot afford to have this happen.

We are committed to providing the highest level of service to our residents as we have always done through emergencies over the years.

Stay safe, stay healthy and help each other. Together we will get through this.

Thank you for your cooperation, understanding, and support.
