There Is Still Time to License Your Pet!

Pet Licensing
Attention Pet Owners,
The Borough of Midland Park’s Pet Licensing Period is May 1st to June 15th per Chapter 5 “Animal Control” of the Municipal Code. The Borough is issuing pet licenses by mail only.
All pet license renewals are now subject to a $10.00 late fee, and a summons may be issued for any unlicensed pets in the community. Please contact the Borough immediately to advise us if you will need time to obtain an updated rabies vaccine, no longer have your pet, or have moved.
Proof of current rabies vaccination must be provided. Per NJ State law, the rabies vaccine duration must extend through a minimum of ten months of the licensing year.  Any rabies vaccine that expires before March 1, 2023 will require an updated vaccine prior to issuance of a pet license. If you pet is unable to be vaccinated at this time, a Rabies Exemption form signed by your vet that states a medical reason will be accepted in lieu of an updated vaccine. For more detailed information on this from the NJ DOH, please visit or see the hand out attached to the bottom of this page.
To renew your pet license or register your new pet please follow these instructions:
  1. Complete the application form attached at the bottom of this page.
  2. Enclose a copy of your pet’s rabies vaccine certificate.
  3. The license fee, including the $10.00 late fee, is payable to “Borough of Midland Park” and is as follows:
    1. Spayed/Neutered Dogs and Cats - $22.00
    2. Non-Spayed/Non-Neutered Dogs and Cats - $25.00
  4. Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for the tag to be mailed to you.
  5. Mail your paperwork and payment, or drop it off in the “Pet Licensing” mailbox outside the door of Borough Hall:
