2021 Hydrant Flushing Program Begins Sunday Oct. 17th

Dear Borough Of Midland Park,
This is a non-emergency notification from Ridgewood Water. Utility crews will be flushing hydrants beginning Sunday night October 17th through Friday morning October 29th as weather and temperatures allow. The RW website, https://water.ridgewoodnj.net/, has been updated with all relevant information for the hydrant flushing program, including a detailed schedule, an interactive map, and an informative video describing the flushing process. Flushing will be performed between the hours of 9:00pm and 4:30am Sunday nights through Friday mornings. Customers may temporarily experience fluctuations in water pressure or water discoloration, however there are no safety or health concerns associated with the minerals that get stirred up. Residents should avoid doing laundry while flushing is taking place. Running cold water at the lowest tub or sink for a couple minutes prior to starting laundry after 4:30 am is recommended. A follow-up call will be made when flushing is completed or suspended due to temperature. Thank you for your cooperation and patience.
