Important Reminders – Garbage & Recycling Pick-Up

DPW News

The Midland Park Department of Public Works would like to remind residents of the following information to ensure that all pick-up days run smoothly:

  • Garbage is collected year-round on Mondays and Thursdays, except certain holidays. Check the Borough calendar or the Recycle Coach App for the holiday schedule.
  • Household refuse, non-recyclable food containers (such as pizza boxes), table waste, and disposable diapers are accepted.
  • Put garbage at the curb in barrels or plastic bags, with a limit of two bags or barrels per pick-up.
  • Place items at the curb AFTER 12 Noon the day BEFORE your scheduled pick-up day. There is no scheduled route through town and therefore no guarantee that the garbage truck will be in your neighborhood at the same time each collection day. This is why it is very important residents always put their items out the night BEFORE pick-up day.
  • Please only leave trash items curbside. Do not leave anything at the curb that you do not intend to have thrown away.
  • Please do not put any paper or plastic bags in with comingled items.

Bulk Items

  • Bulk items will only be collected on Thursdays.
  • There is a limit of 1-2 bulk items accepted per household per Thursday pick-up.
  • Bulk items include carpeting and rugs (bundled), furniture, broken mirrors, and non-recyclable items. Large metal items may be brought to the recycling center.
  • No construction materials, stone, rock, concrete, or asphalt will be accepted.
