Ridgewood Water Hydrant Flushing Program • 10/15/23 - 10/27/23

Each year, as part of a preventative maintenance schedule, Ridgewood Water performs a controlled Hydrant Flushing Program. This is completed as a best practice maintenance technique to help keep the distribution system clean and running smoothly. The flushing removes loose sediment that could break free and cause discolored water within the system. In addition it helps with any aging water in dead ends.

Our program is set to start Sunday Evening and will be completed in the late evening to early morning hours to avoid traffic interruptions. We will start Sunday Evening and continue until Friday morning on each of the next two week. Our crews start at 9pm Sunday Evening and conclude the day’s work at 4:30 am. The entire program will run from Sunday, October 15th, to Friday October 27th.
